For over thirty years Bijepur College has enjoyed a distinguished reputation as the premier higher education institute in western Odisha. It runs courses at graduate, postgraduate and research degree level and has received the coveted approval of Government of India's University Grants Commission.

The mission and objective of its founding fathers has always been to inculcate high moral values along with academic excellence. To promote development of all round personality in a student, the college offers extra mural and co-curricular activities. The college has evolved a benevolent system to look into the needs and challenges of students.
